The first time I played The Bluebird I met Michael. I carrying unnecessary gear for my maiden voyage and trying to leave. He was just standing there like a mountain.I fell into and out the glass doors trying to look at he him again I tripped fell off the sidewalk dropped my guitar, bag of crap with a crash of tambourines. He looked at me exactly as he looks in this photograph. I read his mind. "Girl what's up with the tambourines? I whispered, "I play them with my feet." He helped me up put his hand on my shoulder and shared he knew the struggle and promised "it gets better. Your feet?" I had no idea he'd become my beloved friend. His groove was deep and he knew I like a little slop on my rock. He made us all step up to be better players than without him. Michael believed in me when I didn't. Clever and fierce he lives in my heart where words can not go.
