Trust the song it knows what it wants. Cramming an idea down its  throat that doesn't belong is like  putting on a wet pair of skinny jeans. It can be done but why?

Influenced by the legend folk artist John McCutheon ignited my thunder.  The Beatles and my mother's love of Broadway plus all the music I fell in love with, Heart, The Stones, Carly Simon and Sheryl Crow there's no telling what might pop out of me. Either by raw experiences or liberty with truth my songs are each a world with in themselves. Home grown or funk grooves marry the story hitting the listener from the waist down and up. When I'm asked "What kinda songs I write"I usually smile and say, "The kinda real good ones."

Playing for an audience is an honor. I'm sneaky and when they least expect it I'll whip out a pure crowd pleasing cover song. I believe singing together connects us as only music can. From the moment I plug in until I wave goodbye I belong to them. They've come to feel, laugh, scream and cry. Trusting me to hurl them close to the edge and comfort them with our shared troubles and victories. PLAYAH means you've put in the years fueled by an unexplainable devotion. Not everyone who plays is a playah. That title is earned by never failing to deliver proving that while no is watching your determination is on stun. Playing live gives the songs life to shine bright with a disciplined wild. 

I believe to be a great producer is creating a safe place and transfer the live energy to a record.

Produce records people want to listen to. Writing the song is the first step on its journey to becoming. Producing is arranging, editing, revisions, having finest players in the country record. A rough mix to fix or write what's missing and cut the fluff. Finally mix, master and release.

WRITERS WRITE. PUT IT ALL OUT THERE THEN REVISE 100 TIMES.

STORYTELLING REQUIRES EXPERIENCE. A TALE WITH A BEGINNING, A MIDDLE AND END. TRUE STORIES ARE LEARNED LESSONS NOT OBVIOUS AT THE TIME SHINING LIGHT ON OUR DOUBT, THE HURT. THE HUMOR, THE AH HA AND THE GLORY WITHOUT WASTING A WORD.
